Lagos Safety Commission DG Urges NYSC Corps Members to Prioritize Safety

The Director-General of the Lagos Safety Commission (LSC), Mr. Lanre Mojola, has emphasized the importance of safety among members of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), urging them to become advocates for safety in their places of primary assignments.
Mr. Mojola made this call during the inauguration of the National Youth Safety Corps Safety Club organized by the Lagos Safety Commission in collaboration with the NYSC. The event took place at the National Youth Safety Corps Orientation Camp in Ipaja, Lagos State.

Represented by Dr. Adenike Akindele, the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Lagos Safety Commission, Mr. Mojola highlighted the commission's role in formulating policies and coordinating safety efforts across all levels in the state.
He stressed the commission's vision to integrate safety as a fundamental lifestyle in Lagos State, aiming to develop sustainable safety strategies and policies.
Mr. Mojola commended the commitment of corps members to champion safety initiatives in their communities, emphasizing the pivotal role of safety in daily life. He urged them to prioritize safety measures, citing their potential to influence positive safety attitudes and behaviors.
Furthermore, he lauded the establishment of the NYSC Safety Club as a significant step towards promoting safety consciousness among young people. The club, he noted, would serve as a platform for knowledge sharing, training, and advocacy on various safety issues such as road safety, fire prevention, health, and environmental safety.
In her remarks, the Lagos State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, underscored the increasing importance of safety awareness in Nigeria. She highlighted the complexities of modern living and the need for heightened precautions across various aspects of life.
Mrs. Baderinwa urged corps members to engage in volunteerism to raise awareness about safety matters in their local communities during their service year.
