LASU Health Centre Attains HEFAMAA Accreditation as Full Hospital

The Lagos State University Health Centre has achieved a significant milestone by securing accreditation from the Lagos State Health Facility Monitoring and Accreditation Agency (HEFAMAA) to operate as a full hospital. This accreditation positions the LASU Health Centre as the sole tertiary institution-owned health facility in Lagos State to attain such recognition.

Under the leadership of Dr. Nasir Ariyibi, Director of Health Services at LASU, the health centre underwent rigorous assessment and scrutiny by HEFAMAA, culminating in the approval to function as a hospital. This accreditation aligns with the mandate of the Lagos State Government, which requires all health facilities operating within the state to obtain accreditation from HEFAMAA.

The accreditation was formally presented to the Vice Chancellor of Lagos State University, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM, on Monday, 5th January 2024. Dr. Ariyibi, accompanied by two members of staff from the Health Centre, presented the certificate of approval and a signage board symbolizing the government's endorsement.

Expressing her delight at this achievement, Vice Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello commended Dr. Ariyibi for his leadership and dedication in driving the accreditation process. She reiterated the university's commitment to providing unwavering support to the LASU Health Centre to ensure its optimal functioning.
