LASU Professor Anetekhai Bids Varsity Farewell
Distinguished Professor Martins Agenuma Anetekhai bids farewell to Lagos State University (LASU) after reaching the mandatory retirement age of 70. Lagos State University (LASU) bid farewell to Distinguished Professor Martins Agenuma Anetekhai as he reached the mandatory retirement age of 70. In a valedictory lecture titled "Aquapreneurship: The Pathway to a Sustainable Marine and Blue Economy," Professor Anetekhai shared insights into his distinguished career. The lecture covered topics such as aquapreneurship development, marine and blue economy in Nigeria, policy frameworks, and reform strategies.

Professor Anetekhai emphasized the need for a well-informed and inclusive policy framework to guide the nascent marine and blue economy in Nigeria. He recommended the development of entrepreneurship across the value chain with accessible start-up funding. Stressing the importance of funding, capacity building, and a supportive political environment for successful implementation, he highlighted the significance of continuous monitoring and evaluation.
As he bid farewell, Professor Anetekhai urged the university community to stay united and contribute to the growth and progress of the institution. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello commended the retiring professor as a historic figure making an impact on his farewell day.
