The Lagos State University Centre for the Actualisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (LASU-SDGs), in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Abuja, has announced the 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications.

LASU-SDGs to Host 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications

The Lagos State University Centre for the Actualisation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (LASU-SDGs), in collaboration with the United Nations Information Centre (UNIC), Abuja, has announced the 3rd International Conference on Renewable Energy Research and Applications.

The announcement was made by the Director of LASU-SDGs, Dr. Teslim Ojuromi.

The conference, themed “Renewable Energy Research and Applications, 2025”, will bring together researchers, engineers, manufacturers, policymakers, and practitioners from both public and private sectors to exchange knowledge and explore innovations in renewable energy. The event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, 26th and Wednesday, 27th August 2025, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Lecture Theatre, Lagos State University, Ojo, Lagos.

The conference is designed to address the urgent need for sustainable energy solutions as part of the global push to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions. Many African countries, despite being rich in energy resources, still face significant challenges in providing affordable energy to their citizens. The discussions will focus on advancing low-carbon energy substitutions, improving energy efficiency, and promoting renewable energy as a means to drive economic growth and social development while mitigating climate change.

Format and Presentation Languages
The conference will feature both physical and virtual presentations, with virtual participation restricted to one day. Sessions will be conducted in multiple languages, including English, French, and Portuguese.

Publication of Papers
Accepted papers from the conference may be published in Sustineri, A Journal of Sustainability, a multilingual journal produced by the LASU Centre for Sustainable Development Goals.

Submission Guidelines
