Lagos State University (LASU) will hold its 6th Research and Innovation Fair on October 8-9, 2024, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Theatre Hall, Ojo, Lagos. The event, themed "Emerging Technologies, Research & Innovation: Trends, Threats and Considerations," aims to address contemporary issues in research, economic transformation, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI).

LASU Set to Host the 6th Research and Innovation Fair

The Lagos State University (LASU) is gearing up for the 6th LASU Research and Innovation Fair, set to take place on October 8-9, 2024, at the Aderemi Makanjuola Theatre Hall, LASU main campus in Ojo, Lagos. This year’s theme is "Emerging Technologies, Research & Innovation: Trends, Threats and Considerations."

Under the leadership of the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Ibilola Olatunji-Bello mni, NPOM, the fair aims to explore the intersection of emerging technologies and research innovation, focusing on contemporary issues, economic transformation, and the role of artificial intelligence (AI) in research development.

The fair will adopt a hybrid model, allowing both physical and virtual participation. Early bird registration fees are as follows:

  • Undergraduate Students: N5,000
  • Postgraduate Students: N10,000
  • Staff Participants: N20,000
  • Other Individual Participants: N30,000
  • Online Participants: N20,000

Late registration, effective from August 26, 2024, will incur an additional charge of N10,000.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

Researchers interested in presenting their work can submit a one-page abstract of no more than 300 words by August 30, 2024. The abstracts should be structured into objectives, methods, results, and conclusions. Submissions should be made in MS Word format, using 12-point Times New Roman font and single spacing.

How to Register

To register for the fair and submit abstracts, participants must follow these steps:

  1. Visit LASU Research and Innovation Fair Registration.
  2. Click on "Register" and complete the form.
  3. Upload the payment receipt (payments must be made via the LASU E-pays account).
  4. After verification, participants will receive an approval email granting access to upload their abstracts and finalize their registration.
  5. Email the payment receipt to the Directorate of Research Management & Innovation at lasuresearchfair6@lasu.edu.ng.

  • Platinum: N1 million
  • Platinum: N750,000
  • Gold: N500,000
  • Silver: N250,000
  • Bronze: N150,000
