The TETFUND National Research Fund (NRF) Rape Research Team from Lagos State University (LASU) is set to hold a national dissemination seminar on Wednesday, November 6, 2024. The seminar, titled "Emerging Patterns and Determinants of Rape: Comparative Study of Rural-Urban Communities in Nigeria," will take place at the African Center of Excellence for Innovation and Transformative STEM Education (ACEITSE) Lecture Hall, located on the LASU main campus, Ojo.
The research team, led by a distinguished panel of academics including Dr. Olufunsho A. Omobitan, Dr. Onipede Wusu, Dr. Afolashade Airat Sulaiman, Dr. Ibrahim Rotimi Aliu, and others, will present key findings from their comprehensive study. The event will be chaired by the Vice Chancellor of LASU, Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, mni, NPOM.
Scheduled to run from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the seminar is an important academic and public engagement event, aiming to shed light on critical patterns and factors influencing the occurrence of rape in both rural and urban Nigerian communities. All members of the university community, researchers, and the general public are cordially invited to attend.
The dissemination seminar is part of LASU’s commitment to addressing pressing societal issues through research and evidence-based findings, in partnership with TETFUND.
