LAUTECH Students Take Legal Action Against Governor Makinde Over Faculty Relocation
Second-year students were recently directed to move to Iseyin for the second semester of the ongoing academic session.The plaintiffs, Akintayo Abdulqoyuum Ajibola, Onwi Edet, Ezekiel Ogunmola, and Aderemi Olude, filed the suit on their behalf and on behalf of other students and parents of the 200 Level students of the faculty.
A group of students from Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has taken legal action against the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and three other defendants. The students are contesting the decision to relocate the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences to the newly established Faculty of Agricultural Science and Renewable Natural Resources, Iseyin Campus in the Iseyin Local Government Area of the state.

While a hearing date has not been set, the court paper, dated Monday, October 30, identifies the state Commissioner for Education, the acting Vice-Chancellor of LAUTECH, and the Provost of Iseyin campus as the additional defendants in the case.

The students are seeking a court order to halt the planned relocation.
