LAUTECH’s Team Triumph Wins Southwest Regional Deep Funding AI Hackathon 2025
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has emerged as the Southwest Regional Winner of the Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025, held at the University of Ilesa on 17th and 18th November 2025.

Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has emerged as the Southwest Regional Winner of the Deep Funding National AI-Based Project Competition Hackathon 2025, held at the University of Ilesa on 17th and 18th November 2025.
The winning team, Team Triumph, developed an IoT and AI-based Automated Medication Dispenser designed to help the elderly and persons with disabilities adhere to their medication schedules. The team members include Amoo Taiwo (Mechanical Engineering), Bello Abdullahi (Electronic and Electrical Engineering), Emmanuel Lafenwa (Mechanical Engineering), and Azeez Fatiha (Computer Science). Their project was mentored by Professor Tesleem Asafa, Director of Emerging Skills and Technologies (CEST) at LAUTECH.
Following this achievement, Team Triumph will represent the Southwest region at the national finals in Lagos. Their success underscores the team’s ingenuity and dedication and reinforces LAUTECH’s growing reputation in innovation, health-tech, and technology-driven solutions.
