A student from the Faculty of Law, University of Ibadan(UI), has been named the Chairman of the Council of Hall Chairpersons for the academic year 2023/2024.

Olaniyan Ibrahim Olalekan shared this news on his social media page, where he announced his appointment as the chairman of the council overseeing 13 halls of residence, including both undergraduate and postgraduate halls. In his post, he wrote, "I had the honor of being elected and sworn in as the Chairman of the Council of Hall Chairpersons at the University of Ibadan for the 2023/2024 academic session. The council oversees 13 halls of residence, including both undergraduate and postgraduate halls. Our primary responsibility is to serve as a bridge between the Students' Union, university students, and other campus organizations on matters relating to governance, student welfare, and hall management."
