McPherson University Holds Prayer and Inspection Tour of Campus Construction Sites
In a display of unity and faith, the management and staff of McPherson University embarked on a campus-wide prayer walk and inspection tour of all ongoing construction projects today.
The initiative aimed to dedicate the sites through prayer, seeking timely completion and successful execution of the vital infrastructure developments.
Led by Vice-Chancellor Professor Francis Igbasan and other members of the university's management team, the comprehensive tour saw participation from all categories of staff. The event, organized by University Chaplain Rev. Ibuwunmi Alo, saw the participation of all categories of staff within the university community.
The tour progressed systematically through the various construction projects, with prayers offered at each site. Dr. Jerome Idiegbeyan-Ose, the University Librarian, commenced the session with songs and intercessions at the Male Hall of Residence. Moving on, the University Bursar, Mrs. Aderonke Adeofun, led prayers at the new laboratory and staff office complex. The Acting Registrar, Mr. Olufemi Adebowale, then led a prayer session at the site designated for new lecture halls.
As the team approached the nearly completed 5,000-capacity multipurpose hall, Dr. Olubunmi Ajibade offered prayers. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olatunji Okesola, led prayers at the ongoing Female Hall of Residence. In the same vein, Mr. Taiwo Oseni Olanipekun, the University's Principal Internal Auditor, offered prayers at the site of a proposed future Female Hall of Residence, where construction is yet to begin.
Further prayers were led by Mr. Osanyiro at the cafeteria construction site, while the University Chaplain and the Vice-Chancellor jointly dedicated the under-construction University Health Centre.
Concluding the exercise, Vice-Chancellor Professor Igbasan emphasized the importance of continuous prayers for the institution's overall development and progress. He also called upon the university community to remember in their prayers the General Overseer of the Foursquare Gospel Church in Nigeria and Visitor to the University, Rev. Dr. Sam Aboyeji; the University Board of Trustees, chaired by Engr. Kunle Allen; and the Pro-Chancellor, Rev. Dr. Babatunde Idowu, acknowledging their unwavering support in building McPherson University into a "home of Champions."
