The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN) formally inducted 55 graduates of Medical Laboratory Science from Babcock University, Ilisan, Ogun State, in a prestigious ceremony held on Monday. The event, marking the 12th induction and oath-taking ceremony, took place in the University’s 600-seater auditorium.

Temitayo Ajayi emerged as the overall Best Student for the session, highlighting the significant achievements of the newly inducted graduates.

The keynote address, delivered by Prof. Festus Olajubu from the University of Medical Sciences, Ondo State, was themed "Empowering Personal, Public, and Global Health through Diagnostic Medicine." Prof. Olajubu emphasized the critical role of medical laboratory scientists in healthcare delivery and the transformative impact of diagnostic medicine on public and global health outcomes.

"Get exposure through conference attendance and training workshops and set achievable goals for yourself," Prof. Olajubu advised the inductees, urging them to uphold the profession's ethics and maintain dignity in their practice.

Dr. Tosan Erhabor, Registrar/CEO of MLSCN, reinforced the importance of patient confidentiality and ethical conduct. "Whatever you do, you must maintain this and respect these ethics," he stated.

President/Vice-Chancellor of Babcock University, Prof. Ademola Tayo, encouraged the graduates to strive for excellence and integrity. "As you take your oath, remember that this is not just a promise to uphold the standards of your profession but also a commitment to continually strive for excellence, integrity, and compassion in all your actions," he said.

The Dean of the School of Public and Allied Health, Prof. Dora Akinboye, and Head of Department, Dr. Esther Adejumo, extended their best wishes to the new graduates, expressing confidence in their future success.

The ceremony was attended by the proud parents, guardians, and well-wishers of the inductees, alongside faculty members and staff of Babcock University.
