The Babcock University Alumni Association (BUAA) has entered into a partnership with Education Advancement Support Services (EASS) to create an online platform aimed at engaging alumni and donors for fundraising purposes. The collaboration was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), which outlines EASS’s responsibilities in developing and managing the platform named Konnect.

EASS will handle the implementation and programming of the Konnect platform, which includes importing data, setting up a customized and branded web interface, and managing BUAA’s administrative portal. The goal is to streamline the fundraising process and enhance engagement with Babcock University’s global alumni network.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Ademola Tayo expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential for mutual benefit during the MoU signing ceremony, which was attended by the university’s principal officers and officials from both BUAA and EASS. He highlighted the importance of EASS engaging alumni effectively to maximize fundraising efforts, noting that the success of the initiative would depend on the extent of outreach and engagement.

Dr. Adeoti Tayo, National President of BUAA, emphasized the MoU’s significance in providing a platform for global alumni engagement. She noted the importance of alumni giving back to their alma mater and expressed hope that this initiative would help shift the funding burden from the institution to its alumni, similar to practices in developed countries.

EASS CEO Mr. Tunde Ijyemi explained that the Konnect platform would offer comprehensive fundraising, campaign, and engagement tools to support BUAA’s operational activities and mission. He highlighted EASS’s extensive experience in the field, noting their existing partnerships with institutions such as the University of Lagos, the University of Ibadan, and Yaba College of Technology.
