Modibbo Adama University Celebrates One Year of Professor Ibrahim Umar Visionary Leadership

Modibbo Adama University (MAU), Yola, has celebrated one year of transformative leadership under Vice-Chancellor Professor Ibrahim Umar.

Since taking office on August 14, 2024, Professor Umar has steered the institution towards remarkable growth, implementing swift promotions across all professorial cadres and launching strategic staff development initiatives, including TETFund-sponsored training for both academic and non-academic staff.

His tenure has also seen notable infrastructure progress, such as the construction of a 5KV solar power system, a Federal Government project aimed at addressing the persistent electricity challenges in tertiary institutions.

Professor Umar’s leadership style, marked by an open-door policy, prompt response to genuine requests, and constant encouragement has earned him deep respect within the MAU community. His approach to turning challenges into opportunities has fostered unity and strengthened the university’s drive for excellence.
