The leadership of the National Association of Niger State Students (NANISS), under the guidance of National President Comr. Sen. Gambo Idris Shehu, made a significant visit to Niger State Polytechnic, Zungeru, to address the recent rustication of several students. The visit, coordinated through the Office of the National Secretary General, Comr. Mohammed Ibrahim Buhari, aimed to seek justice and fairness for the affected students.

The rusticated students had participated in a peaceful protest against certain institutional policies and the lack of essential social amenities. However, the protest did not follow the proper procedures, leading to severe disciplinary actions, including rustication from the academic program. The intervention by NANISS aligns with their core objective of safeguarding the interests and rights of Niger State students.

We believe in the power of dialogue and the need for a harmonious relationship between students and management,” stated Comr. Shehu. He appealed to the management to reconsider their decision and reinstate the rusticated students, allowing them to continue their education without further disruption.

The NANISS leadership acknowledged that the students had bypassed the proper channels for their protest and urged the institution to exercise leniency. They called for a balanced approach that considers both the students' grievances and the need for maintaining institutional protocols.
