NCC and ENSUBEB Unite to Combat Book Piracy in Enugu Schools

In a significant move aimed at curbing the rampant issue of book piracy within educational institutions, the Enugu State Office of the Nigerian Copyright Commission (NCC) has announced a collaborative effort with the Enugu State Universal Basic Education Board (ENSUBEB). This partnership seeks to cleanse the book distribution channels across the state, ensuring the integrity of educational materials and protecting the rights of authors and publishers.
Mrs. Ngozi C. Okeke, Director of the NCC Enugu Office, revealed this pivotal development following her recent meeting with Dr. G. O. C. Ajah, mni, the Executive Chairman of ENSUBEB. The discussions primarily revolved around strategies to address the prevailing challenges within the school system, with a focus on combating piracy.

Emphasizing the significance of this collaboration, Mrs. Okeke underscored the commitment of the NCC to collaborate closely with relevant stakeholders to safeguard investments in the publishing industry. Furthermore, he pledged to strengthen ENSUBEB's book procurement and distribution processes, closing any potential loopholes exploited by pirates.
