In a significant move aimed at bolstering healthcare services in Enugu State, Governor Peter Mbah has been lauded by the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD), Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT) Teaching Hospital, for his proactive steps in addressing the critical issue of manpower shortage in the state’s health sector.

The President of NARD, ESUT Teaching Hospital, Dr. Ofonere Chukwunonso, expressed deep appreciation for Governor Mbah's decision to employ 100 resident doctors, a move that promises to alleviate the strain on existing healthcare personnel and enhance service delivery across medical facilities in the state.

However, amidst the accolades, the association urged Governor Mbah to expedite the disbursement of the 2023 Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) to resident doctors, aligning with practices in other states, to further support medical education and training initiatives.
