Nigerian Father Petitions Senate Over Withheld JAMB Result of 16-Year-Old Daughter Following Alleged Advances by Exam Invigilator
A Nigerian father has petitioned the Senate after his 16-year-old daughter's JAMB result was withheld due to her refusal to accept advances from an exam invigilator. The invigilator allegedly asked for her phone number during the examination, and when she declined, her result was flagged for alleged examination malpractice, which the family denies.
A Nigerian father has approached the Senate with a petition following the withholding of his 16-year-old daughter's Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) result after she allegedly refused to give in to advances from an exam invigilator.
According to Senator Neda Imaseun, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions, the father narrated that his daughter was subjected to unwanted attention by an invigilator while writing her JAMB examination. The invigilator allegedly asked for her phone number, which she refused to provide.
The refusal reportedly led to the withholding of her examination result. Upon inquiry, the father was informed that the result had been flagged due to claims of examination malpractice, which the family vehemently denies.
In a turn of events, the invigilator somehow obtained the girl's phone number and continued to contact her despite her refusal to engage. The father confronted the invigilator, warning him to stop contacting his daughter, after which the situation escalated, leading to further complications surrounding the release of the exam result.
Senator Imaseun, in presenting the petition, noted that the father is seeking the Senate's intervention to ensure justice for his daughter and the release of her withheld result. The matter has drawn significant attention, with calls for a thorough investigation into the alleged misconduct by the invigilator and the JAMB result's status.
The Senate Committee on Ethics is expected to probe the issue further in the coming days.
