The Management Team of the Nigerian French Language Village (NFLV), Badagry, paid a courtesy visit to the Lagos State University of Education (LASUED), Oto/Ijanikin main campus, to foster continued collaboration and explore new areas of partnership in language education.

The meeting, held in the Multimedia Complex Room of the Vice Chancellor’s Office, featured fruitful discussions on sustaining and expanding cooperation between the two institutions. In her remarks, the Vice Chancellor of LASUED, Professor Bidemi Bilkis Lafiaji-Okuneye, commended NFLV for its leadership role in promoting the French language and culture in Nigeria. She emphasized that the partnership would further strengthen LASUED’s mandate of producing globally relevant educators and assured the visiting team of the university’s readiness to deepen collaboration for the benefit of students, staff, and national development.

Director/CEO of the NFLV, Professor S. O. Kolawole, stressed the importance of student immersion programmes, noting that as Nigeria increases its engagement with the Francophone world in diplomacy, trade, and culture, French proficiency remains a vital skill for both students and professionals.

Dignitaries present at the meeting included the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academics), Professor M. A. Daodu; Registrar, Mr. Akinfemiwa Opeoluwa; Bursar, Mr. Ganiu Ajose Adeniyi; Deputy Registrar (Vice Chancellor’s Office), Mrs. Sami Omolara; alongside other senior staff of the university.

The visit ended with both institutions reaffirming their commitment to strengthening ties and advancing the course of language education in Nigeria.
