The Federal University of Technology Akure (FUTA) in Ondo State has strongly refuted online reports claiming that some professors at the university are fake. The university dismissed the allegations as pure fiction, emphasizing that none of the names listed as fake professors in the report exists in their staff records.

In a statement issued on Monday by the Registrar, Mr. Charles Adeleye, FUTA stated that the names circulating online under the university are entirely fictional. Adeleye reassured the public that the university maintains a list of all bona fide staff members, including those in the professorial cadre, and invited scrutiny of these records in the university calendar and the Order of Proceedings for the 33rd Convocation Ceremony published in December 2023.
