The Vice Chancellor of Ignatius Ajuru University of Education (IAUE) Professor Okechuku Onuchuku has promised that no one will be left behind in the promotion exercise, Myschoolnews report.

He made the promise during the statutory Senate Meeting of Wednesday November 29, 2023 which held at the postgraduate hall of the university.

Professor Onuchuku informed that he had promoted Deputy Registrars, Deputy Bursars, Auditors in addition to teaching staff due for elevation and stressed that he would clear backlog of promotions to put to rest the issue of paying arrears and to help those who are due for retirement to benefit financially from the exercise. 

He advised Professors to promptly assess their colleagues for promotion when given the opportunity for them to also grow.

 The Vice Chancellor announced to Members of Senate on the floor of the house that the female hostel fencing projects has been completed with a security post mounted for them and invited members to attend the commissioning of the project on Tuesday December 5, 2023.

He expressed appreciation to every Member of Senate who worked towards making the last accreditation exercise a success and disclosed that the results of the exercise was positive.

The Meeting which was used to honour forty seven (47) Professors who had presented their Inaugural lecture, had the Chief Executive Officer advising others yet to tell  the  world what they have been professing to do so especially as they cannot attain the Emeritus Professor status if they fail to give their Inaugural lecture.

He urged Professors to encourage those coming behind to grow to their level, to continue to do their job, write and publish articles even after their elevation and for them to keep the flag of the university flying.

In a vote of thanks, the first Inaugural lecturer and oldest Professor in the University, Professor Charles Okechukwu Iwundu on behalf of the awardees expressed gratitude to the Vice Chancellor for the unprecedented award adding that a man who is appreciated will always be willing and ready to do more.
