NOUN Conducts Mock Accreditation Exercise in Enugu

A three-man team from the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) conducted a mock accreditation exercise at the Enugu Study Centre on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. The exercise was in preparation for the centre's upcoming accreditation by the National Universities Commission (NUC).

Led by NOUN's Director of Academic Planning, Prof. Gregory O. Okagbare, the team assessed the centre's readiness for the accreditation of its B.Sc. Public Administration program under the Faculty of Management Sciences. Prof. Okagbare was accompanied by the Head of the Public Administration Department, Dr. Nwamaka P. Ibeme, and the Deputy Registrar, Mrs. Florence Okeke.

Centre Director Prof. Charity Akuadi Okonkwo and senior staff guided the team during their inspection of the centre’s facilities. After the tour, Prof. Okagbare commended the organization and cleanliness of the centre, while highlighting areas for improvement to ensure a smooth accreditation process.

During a meeting with the staff, Prof. Okagbare urged them to continue supporting the centre's leadership and emphasized the importance of treating students as valuable assets. He also advised staff to adhere to ethical work practices and prioritize self-development.

In response, Prof. Okonkwo expressed her gratitude for the insights shared by Prof. Okagbare, noting the importance of continuous learning for personal and professional growth.
