UNIMAID Partners with Public Complaints Commission to Promote Social Justice
He called for a partnership between the PCC, the university’s Faculty of Law, and its Legal Unit to ensure that issues are resolved effectively and fairly.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Maiduguri (UNIMAID), Professor Mohammed Laminu Mele, has pledged the university's support to the Public Complaints Commission (PCC) in its mission to promote social justice within the community.
Speaking during a courtesy visit by the PCC to his office at the Muhammadu Buhari Senate Building on December 4, 2024, Professor Mele emphasized the importance of addressing misunderstandings that may arise within the university. He called for a partnership between the PCC, the university’s Faculty of Law, and its Legal Unit to ensure that issues are resolved effectively and fairly.
Professor Mele also urged the Commission to organize regular workshops for university staff to enhance their capacity to manage student-related concerns.
In his remarks, Honourable Yusuf Adamu, the Borno State Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission, congratulated Professor Mele on his appointment and assured him of the Commission’s readiness to provide security and support in line with legal provisions.
The collaboration is expected to strengthen efforts in fostering social justice and maintaining harmony within the university and its surrounding community.
