NOUN Inaugurates Abdalla Uba Adamu Sports Complex to Boost Staff Well-being
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olufemi Peters, who commissioned the facility on October 23, emphasized that the new complex would energize staff members and foster a healthy work environment.
The National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) inaugurated the Abdalla Uba Adamu Sports Complex at its headquarters in Abuja, aiming to enhance the well-being of staff and the broader university community. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Olufemi Peters, who commissioned the facility on October 23, emphasized that the new complex would energize staff members and foster a healthy work environment.
Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu, former Vice-Chancellor and namesake of the complex, initiated the project to provide a recreational space for staff relaxation. He commended Prof. Peters for endorsing the sports complex and recognized Prof. Nebath Tanglang, Director of the Abuja Model Study Centre and chairman of NOUN’s sports committee, for his commitment to the project’s completion.
Prof. Tanglang reflected on the complex’s journey since 2019 and urged staff to make the most of the new facility. Although a scheduled novelty match between Team NOUN and the Economic & Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) team was postponed due to weather conditions, the inauguration marked a significant step toward promoting wellness at NOUN.
