NSUK VC Charges NASU To Consider Dialogue As Best Option To Settle Disputes.
The Vice-Chancellor of Nasarawa State University, Keffi, Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman has called on the leadership of the Non-Academic Staff Union of Educational and Associated Institutions NASU to always consider dialogue as a viable and veritable means of dispute resolution.
Professor Sa'adatu gave the charge on Thursday 25th April 2024 when she received the hierarchy of the State Administrative Council of NASU who paid her a courtesy and congratulatory visit in her office.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed her pleasure at the visit stating that the Management of Nasarawa State University has enjoyed a cordial relationship with NASU NSUK Chapter which has resulted in industrial harmony over the years. She also noted with delight that a worthy member of the University Community Comrade Suleiman Buhari is currently occupying the exalted seat of the Deputy President/ Chairman Universities and Inter University Centres Trade Group Council which she said will enable her administration leverage on his position to pilot the affairs of the University without NASU embarking on unnecessary strikes as her doors will always be wide open for meaningful dialogue and consultation.

Earlier in her remarks, the State Chaipreson of the State Administrative Council of NASU Comrade Dinna stated that they were in the University to attend the First Quarter State Council Meeting and to also congratulate Professor Sa'adatu Hassan Liman on her appointment as the first female Vice-Chancellor of NSUK. She also used the opportunity to charge the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor to concentrate on upgrading the University to greater heights and addressing issues of welfare of NASU and University staff members with topmost priority.
The NASU NSUK Chapter is hosting the 2024 First Quarter Council Meeting which has in attendance all branches in the state represented by Chairmen, Secretaries and Treasurers of the Branches.
In the delegation for the courtesy visit were Deputy President/Chairman Universities and Inter University Centres Trade Group Council, Comrade Suleiman Buhari Keffi, the State Chairperson Comrade Dinna, the State Secretary, Comrade Paul, the State NEC Member, Comrade Shabu, and the NSUK NASU Branch Secretary, Comrade Isyaku Adamu.
