Reflecting on her journey, Ifiokobong shared, “While waiting for UNN to address our issues, I learned about the UK Migration pathway. I applied for a passport and diligently sat for all my exams. Within a few months, I secured a job and relocated to the UK for a fresh start. Soon after, I received admission to study Nursing at the University of Derby.”

Ifiokobong’s story began at the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), where she initially secured direct entry admission to study nursing in November 2019. She embarked on her program in 2020, eager to pursue her passion for healthcare. However, unforeseen challenges arose due to over-admission issues at UNN. The university was unable to resolve these issues, leading to a change in her department and the loss of her place in the nursing program.

Undeterred, Ifiokobong refused to abandon her dream. She explored alternative paths and set her sights on the University of Derby in the United Kingdom. With determination and hard work, she passed the necessary exams and secured acceptance into their nursing program.
