NYSC and JAMB Strengthen Partnership for Credible Mobilization Process

The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) have reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating closely to ensure a credible and seamless mobilization process for prospective corps members across Nigeria. This was emphasized during a recent meeting between the Director General of NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Dogara Ahmed, and the Registrar of JAMB, Professor Ishaq Oloyede, along with their respective management teams.

Brigadier General Ahmed expressed his appreciation to Professor Oloyede for his dedication to the programs of the NYSC, highlighting the vital role of JAMB in facilitating a smooth mobilization process. He emphasized the importance of the longstanding partnership between the two organizations, stressing the need to further strengthen it to achieve mutual goals in the interest of national development.

Professor Oloyede, in turn, thanked Brigadier General Ahmed for the opportunity to discuss collaboration between NYSC and JAMB. He acknowledged the significance of the partnership and urged both organizations to be proactive in their activities to prevent fraudulent practices that could compromise the integrity of the mobilization process.

During the meeting, Professor Oloyede proposed enhancements to the NYSC registration portal, suggesting the inclusion of fields for course of study and name of institution attended by prospective corps members during online registration. This, he believes, will streamline the verification process and help identify unqualified candidates.

Furthermore, the JAMB Registrar revealed plans to provide NYSC with a list of registered candidates to facilitate the harmonization of data and the identification of ineligible individuals attempting to fraudulently gain mobilization for national service.

In response to these proposals, the Director of Press and Public Relations for NYSC, Eddy Megwa, emphasized the importance of maintaining the integrity of the mobilization process and pledged the organization's full support for collaborative efforts with JAMB.

The partnership between NYSC and JAMB is integral to ensuring a fair and transparent mobilization process, and both organizations are committed to working together to uphold the highest standards of integrity and credibility in national service mobilization.
