NYSC facilitator urges corps members to participate in sustainable development programmes

NYSC Sustainable Development Goals Facilitator, Mr. Yusuf Dauda has enjoined Corps Members to avail themselves of opportunities to contribute and carry out developmental programmes aimed at bridging the development gap between Nigeria and other developed nations of the world.

NYSC Sustainable Development Goals Facilitator, Mr. Yusuf Dauda has enjoined Corps Members to avail themselves of opportunities to contribute and carry out developmental programmes  aimed at bridging the development gap between Nigeria and other developed nations of the world.

Myschoolnews reports Dauda said development is the core and future of any nation, and therefore all hands must clear the deck to win the fight against impending problems like poverty, poor quality education, gender inequality, unclean water, among others.

He said the NYSC Scheme has included Sustainable Development Goals as one of its Community Development Service programmes run by Corps Members in their various places of Primary Assignment to bring about awareness and development at all levels. 

Speaking on the future of SDGs, Dauda said the future of any Country is in the hands of those who have the power to effect change right from their immediate communities and extending it outside, sensitising people about these developmental goals, advocating for and mobilising others to join in the developmental drive.

He further said Corps Members whose strive has been geared towards promoting a better environment, standard of living and a secured future will always put Sustainable Development Goals programmes at the forefront.
