Katsina State Coordinator of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Alhaji Ibrahim Saidu, recently addressed the 2024 Batch B Stream 2 corps members as they prepared to commence their primary assignments. During his briefing, Saidu underscored the significance of respecting the culture and traditions of the host communities where the corps members will serve.

Saidu emphasized that understanding and adhering to local customs is crucial for fostering positive relationships and integrating effectively into the community. He urged the corps members to approach their service with cultural sensitivity and respect, which he believes will contribute to a harmonious and productive service year.

In addition to cultural respect, Saidu provided important information regarding healthcare services. He informed the corps members that they are entitled to free medical care through the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA). To ensure they can fully benefit from this provision, Saidu advised the corps members to identify and familiarize themselves with NHIA-accredited hospitals in their respective areas of posting. This will enable them to access medical treatment promptly if needed, without financial constraints.
