NYSC Refutes Claims of Corps Members' Posting to Amotekun in Oyo State

The National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) in Oyo State has refuted claims circulating on social media suggesting that corps members have been posted to serve at the Western Nigeria Security Network, popularly known as Amotekun.
In a statement issued on Saturday in Ibadan, NYSC’s Assistant Director, Press and Public Relations, Oyo State, Ms Christy Olatoye, clarified that Amotekun was not listed as an employer in the NYSC database.Olatoye emphasized that while Amotekun is a respected organization in its field, the NYSC Oyo State did not issue any posting letter for corps members to serve with Amotekun.

The statement cautioned against spreading false information about the NYSC scheme, noting its longstanding reputation and contributions to the nation over the past five decades.

“It is therefore not an organization that should be used as an object of prank,” Olatoye emphasized.The clarification comes amidst concerns raised by the public regarding the alleged deployment of corps members to the Amotekun security outfit, highlighting the need for accurate information dissemination.
