NYSC Warns Corps Members Against Involvement in Local Politics

Brigadier-General Yusha’u Ahmed, the Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), has cautioned corps members against engaging in local politics during their service year. He delivered this warning while addressing corps members at the closing of the 2024 Batch ‘A stream 1’ orientation program in Sokoto.

The DG emphasized the importance of accepting their posting in good faith and urged them to focus on positively impacting the lives of their host communities. He discouraged corps members from seeking redeployment and urged them to assimilate into their designated localities.

Represented by Sokoto State NYSC Coordinator, Alhaji Usman Yaro, the DG emphasized the significance of respecting the culture and traditions of host communities. He encouraged corps members to contribute to community growth and highlighted the potential for some to choose to remain in their host communities after their service year.
