The Chairman of the Commission, Taofeek Ogunperi, and General Secretary, Damilare Olayinka jointly signed a press release on Tuesday, June 11, signaling the commencement of what promises to be a fiercely contested race for leadership within the Great Ife Students’ Union.
The Commission's statement read, "The Electoral Commission is delighted to declare the lifting of the ban on campaigns for the upcoming Great Ife Students’ Union elections. After careful deliberations and review of the prevailing circumstances, we have deemed it fit to grant Great Ife students contesting in the 2022/2023 Students’ Union elections the liberty to commence their campaigns, effective immediately."
