OAUSTECH Receives Full NUC Accreditation for All Programmes
Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) in Okitipupa, Ondo State, has achieved a significant milestone with the National Universities Commission (NUC) granting full accreditation to all fourteen programmes presented for the 2023 accreditation exercise. The NUC’s decision follows the accreditation process conducted in October and November 2023.
The fully accredited programmes include Agriculture, Fisheries, Computer Science, Civil Engineering, Electrical Electronic Engineering, Food Science Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Botany, Geophysics, Industrial Chemistry, Mathematics, Microbiology, Statistics, and Zoology.

At the 53rd Regular Meeting held on June 11, 2024, Prof. Akinbo Adesomoju, Chairman of the Governing Council, commended the university's management under Vice-Chancellor Prof. Temi Ologunorisa for this outstanding achievement. Prof. Adesomoju expressed his admiration for the dedication and efforts that led to the successful accreditation.
Dr. Rotimi Olorunsola, Chairman of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) at OAUSTECH, highlighted the pivotal role of quality staff and robust quality assurance measures in achieving this result. He also praised the Vice-Chancellor for establishing academic standards that have elevated OAUSTECH's profile.
Comrade Dayo Temola, Chairman of the Senior Staff Union of Universities (SSANU), celebrated the accreditation as a historic moment for the institution, noting the revival of the University farm, which contributed to the success in Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food Science Technology.
Dr. Olusola Akintunlaji, a lecturer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, described the accreditation as a significant step in enhancing the School of Engineering and Engineering Technology.

Mr. Kunle Akinwonmi, Chairman of the Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU), and Mr. Bobola Bamgbola, Chairman of the National Association of Academic Technologists, also lauded Prof. Ologunorisa’s leadership, citing improvements in staff training, the establishment of a central laboratory, and prompt payment of salaries as key factors in achieving full accreditation.
This full accreditation across all programmes marks a new era for OAUSTECH, positioning the university for greater academic excellence and recognition.
