The flagbearer of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, in the person of Peter Obi, has donated a significant sum of N75 million to the Annunciation Specialist Hospital in Enugu State. The former Anambra state governor, alongside his friend Professor Philip Ozuah, made the generous contribution with a specific aim to support the establishment of a College of Nursing Sciences at the hospital.

In a philanthropic gesture, Peter Obi, the flagbearer of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election, has donated a significant sum of N75 million to the Annunciation Specialist Hospital in Enugu State. The former Anambra state governor, alongside his friend Professor Philip Ozuah, made the generous contribution with a specific aim to support the establishment of a College of Nursing Sciences at the hospital.
Peter Obi shared the news on his social media page, revealing that the donation consisted of $50,000 from Professor Philip Ozuah and N15 million from himself. The funds are intended to boost the number of healthcare professionals in the country by facilitating the establishment of a College of Nursing Sciences at the Annunciation Specialist Hospital.
Obi emphasized that the donation was motivated by the need to address the shortage of healthcare professionals, particularly nurses, in Nigeria. The funds are dedicated to supporting the hospital's initiative to enhance medical education and contribute to improving the overall healthcare system in the country.
