The Chief Press Secretary to the governor of Delta State, Festus Ahon, has paid West African Examination Council (WAEC) enrolment fees for indigent students of Erhavwen Secondary School, Ekrerhavwen-Agbarho, in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

Ahon made the payment during his visit to the school on Tuesday, stating that the gesture was in line with Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s MORE Agenda for all Deltans.

He emphasized the importance of education in community development and expressed the need to support students to ensure none of them is left behind in their educational pursuit.

Ahon urged the school principal and staff to dedicate their time to teach and guide the students to be of good conduct and avoid social vices that may hinder their education and goals in life.

In response, the principal of the school, Mrs. Patience Ekakitie, commended Ahon for his kind gesture, assuring that the students would justify the gesture by remaining focused and performing well in their examinations.

A teacher in the school and trustee of the Ekrerhavwen-Agbarho community, Mr. Sunday Damatie, also praised the governor's spokesman for his humanitarian works in the community and appealed to him to use his office to advocate for the fencing of the school to prevent land encroachment.
