The Ogun State government has expressed its appreciation to BIC, a globally recognized manufacturer of stationery and writing tools, for its generous donation of 50,000 writing instruments to public school students across the state. This donation comes as students prepare to resume school in September for the new academic session.
The commendation was made by the Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, during a presentation ceremony held in Abeokuta, the state's capital. Prof. Arigbabu highlighted the significance of partnerships between corporate entities and the government in promoting education and enhancing learning outcomes in the state.
“This gesture underscores the crucial role that corporate organizations can play in supporting the government's efforts to advance education,” Prof. Arigbabu stated. He emphasized the importance of such collaborations, calling on alumni, corporate bodies, and philanthropists to join hands with the government in its mission to improve the educational sector.
He also noted the successes of Ogun State students in various national and regional competitions, attributing these achievements to the collective efforts of the state and its partners. He encouraged other companies and individuals to emulate BIC’s example in contributing to the educational development of the state.
Speaking on behalf of BIC Nigeria, Business Development Lead Mr. Adeyemi Ojo explained that the donation of the writing tools, specifically biros, was part of BIC's ongoing social intervention initiatives aimed at supporting education. He mentioned that a similar donation was made earlier in the year to students in Lagos State.

“BIC, as a leading manufacturer of writing materials, recognizes its responsibility to support learners by providing the essential tools needed for their educational journey,” Mr. Ojo said. He underscored the importance of having adequate resources to aid students in their studies and expressed BIC’s commitment to continuing its support for education in Nigeria.
The donation from BIC is expected to make a significant impact as students return to school, equipped with the necessary tools to aid their learning and academic success.
