Oko Polytechnic Student Union Government and Oko Progressive Union Hold Talks with EEDC on Electricity Woes
Federal Poly Oko student leaders and Oko Progressive Union engage in dialogue with Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC regarding electricity challenges.
Earlier today, a significant delegation comprising the Student Union Government President, His Excellency Giant Comr Ogbu Kingsley (Kingsmelody), representing the Federal Polytechnic Oko, alongside executives of the Oko Progressive Union (OPU) led by Capt. Casmir Nwafor, paid a courtesy visit to the Enugu Electricity Distribution PLC (EEDC) Ekwulobia District.
The purpose of this visit was twofold: firstly, to introduce the newly elected executives of the OPU, who assumed office on December 30th, 2023, and secondly, to address the pressing electricity issues affecting the Oko community.

During the visit, the delegation highlighted the challenges faced by the community due to inadequate electricity supply, particularly emphasizing its adverse impact on students' studying and learning activities.
As a representative of the student body, Giant Comr Ogbu Kingsley expressed deep concern over the national issue of electricity provision, urging the Tinubu Administration to consider subsidizing and meeting the expectations of communities like Oko facing such challenges.
