Olowo of Owo Expresses Gratitude to Governor Aiyedatiwa Over Upgrade of RUGIPO to University

The Olowo of Owo and Paramount Ruler of Owo Land, who also serves as the Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Babura, Jigawa State, has expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Dr. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, for approving the conversion and upgrade of Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, into a university.

In a press statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Sam Adewale, Oba Ajibade Gbadegesin Ogunoye III described the decision as a highly welcomed development, fully supported by the people of Owo Kingdom. The monarch emphasized that the upgrade of the institution marks a transformative milestone in the educational advancement of the kingdom, Ondo State, and Nigeria at large.

According to Oba Ogunoye, Rufus Giwa Polytechnic has long been a cherished institution and a cornerstone of academic excellence. Its elevation to a university status, he noted, is a testament to Governor Aiyedatiwa’s foresight and unwavering commitment to education and development.
