Plateau State Government Shuts Down Two Private Schools Over Subpar Facilities

The Plateau state government has closed down two private schools in Jos for operating below the minimum standard. The schools, First Academy and Niret Private School, located in Jos North and Jos South Local Government Areas, respectively, were shut down during an ongoing verification of all private schools in the state.

 

According to Mr. Sabastine John, Director of Quality Assurance at the Plateau State Ministry of Education, the decision to close the schools was made after observing their deplorable facilities and management's failure to adhere to required standards .

The move is part of the state government's efforts to ensure quality education for children in Plateau. The Bar Caleb Mutfwang-led administration has pledged to revamp the education sector and provide education to every child in the state.

This development comes after a previous move by the state government to revoke the operating licenses of all private schools in the state, citing the need to ensure quality education .
