President & Partner of Eryk shares his vision  of creating a better system and better future for Nigerians in Nigeria.

President & Partner of Eryk, an international technical service provider, Jens-Chr. Møller has shared his organisation’s vision of creating jobs, increasing income, reducing the brain drain in the country, and creating a better future for Nigerians in Nigeria.

He stated this during a courtesy visit to the Dean, Faculty of Engineering, University of Lagos (UNILAG), Professor Obanishola Sadiq, on Thursday, September 21, 2023. Møller was accompanied by the company’s Vice-President & Partner, Lucja Kalkstein and a representative from the Danish Embassy, Catherine Gernot.

The visit which was facilitated by the Danish Embassy focused on collaborative opportunities between the company and UNILAG.

Møller explained that his organisation had, in 2017, started an apprenticeship programme for Nigerians and Ghanaians. According to him, “under the programme about four apprentices undergo three to four years training in electrical installation and engineering. These trainees obtain diplomas and European certificates of competencies, a good trainee salary, and the opportunity to be absorbed into the organisation in Europe.”

He mentioned that as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, Eryk would like to partner with the University of Lagos in areas such as provision of scholarships to deserving students, and sponsorship of trainings abroad, competitions, labs, to mention a few.

Møller also announced Eryk’s plans to establish a Limited Liability Company in Nigeria in 2024, with the intention of employing about twenty (25) Nigerians who would work as the Information Technology (IT) development team as well as virtual members of the organisation in Europe.

He listed the technical competencies required for staff of the company, the Job Description of the Chief Technical officer (CTO) and the various opportunities his company would make available to its staff. These include work visas, resident permits, good salary, among others.

Lucja Kalkstein chipped in that the recruitment process into the organisation would be based on merit.

In response, the Dean of Engineering assured the team that students and graduates of the Faculty more than measure up to the competencies listed. He, as well as other members of faculty present at the meeting, mentioned that students would benefit from the internship opportunity in the organisation while graduates would be more than happy to embark on a journey with the organisation if the working conditions and benefits are favourable.

At the end of the meeting, all parties agreed to the drafting of a Memorandum of Understanding to legitimize the proposed collaboration before the end of 2023.
