The conference, held in Abuja from October 28 to November 2, brought together participants from leading Nigerian universities to discuss this year's theme, "Preventing Youth Involvement in Crime, Violence, and Drug Abuse."
Representing Igbinedion University, a dedicated team of eight students captured the spotlight, winning the coveted Best School Delegation Award and the Best Cultural Performance Award. Their strong presence and remarkable achievements not only underscored the university's commitment to excellence but also highlighted its growing reputation in academic, cultural, and diplomatic circles.
Individual achievements at the conference were equally impressive. Zinnat Olaleye stood out by receiving the Best Female Delegate and Best Cultural Attire awards. Theo Emeubani was named 2nd Best Male Delegate, and Chelsea Ike won the 3rd Best Female Delegate award, demonstrating the exceptional talent within the team.
The high point of the conference was the election of Zinnat Olaleye and Chelsea Ike as President of the General Assembly and Secretary-General of NITIMUN, respectively. Their election, following rigorous exams and qualifications, grants them full sponsorship for the 2025 NITIMUN conference.
