Presidential Aide Visits Jos, Urges Comprehensive Care for Victims of School Building Collapse
He visited the Plateau Specialist Hospital, Bingham University Teaching Hospital, and Our Lady of Apostles Hospital, where the injured are receiving treatment.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Students’ Engagements, Sunday Asefon, has called for extensive medical care for students injured in a recent school building collapse in Jos, Plateau State. The tragic incident resulted in the deaths of 22 students and left 132 others injured.
During his visit to the affected area, Asefon expressed condolences for the lives lost and emphasized the need for robust medical attention for the survivors. He visited the Plateau Specialist Hospital, Bingham University Teaching Hospital, and Our Lady of Apostles Hospital, where the injured are receiving treatment.
Asefon met with the Chief Medical Directors of these hospitals and urged them to utilize their expertise to improve the conditions of the severely injured and prevent further fatalities. He also engaged with the Plateau State Commissioner for Secondary Education to discuss the situation.
In a statement, Asefon said, “The primary purpose of my visit was to assess the progress of medical treatments and ensure that the survivors receive the best care possible. It is my hope that the deceased find eternal rest and that the injured recover swiftly.”
