The Appointments and Promotions Committee (A&PC) of the Federal University of Technology, Minna, has officially confirmed the appointment of Prof. Abdullahi Mohammed as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic). This confirmation was made during the university's 87th meeting held at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Gidan Kwano, on November 7, 2023.

He graduated from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, in 1998 with Second Class Honours (Upper Division) and completed his mandatory National Youth Service with Zenith Engineers, Kaduna State, from 1999 to 2000. Prof. Mohammed joined the university as an assistant lecturer in 2000, where he later obtained his M.Eng. degree in 2003.

He completed his educational journey with a PhD in Concrete Technology at the University of Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, in 2011. Throughout his career, Prof. Abdullahi Mohammed held various positions, including Level Adviser, Welfare Officer, Project Coordinator, Departmental Project Coordinator, Postgraduate Coordinator, and Head of Department. Until his recent appointment, he served as the Director, Academic Planning.

Prof. Mohammed, a corporate member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) registered with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), has contributed significantly to the accreditation and verification of programs in various universities. He has over 50 national and international journal publications and has supervised numerous undergraduate, PGD, M.Eng., and PhD students.

The appointment is effective from November 7, 2023, and is initially for two years.
