On Wednesday, 4th September 2024, Professor Olajide Ifedayo Ibietan, a renowned Professor of Public Administration at the Federal University Lokoja (FUL), delivered the university's 21st Inaugural Lecture. The lecture, titled “Why Reforms Fail in Nigeria’s Public Bureaucracy: A Public Administrationist’s Perspective,” focused on the structural and systemic issues that have hindered successful reforms within Nigeria's public sector.

Drawing on his vast experience and research in public administration, Professor Ibietan critically assessed past efforts to reform Nigeria’s bureaucracy, offering an in-depth analysis of why these attempts have often fallen short. His presentation offered practical insights and policy recommendations aimed at addressing these failures, calling for more sustainable and effective reform strategies.
