Prof Oyeweso Heads UNIOSUN Business School
Before his appointment, Oyeweso is a Professor of History at the College of Humanities and Culture, Ikire Campus of Osun State University.
The Osun State University has appointed Professor Siyan Oyeweso as the pioneer Director of UNIOSUN Business School.
Before his appointment, Oyeweso is a Professor of History at the College of Humanities and Culture, Ikire Campus of Osun State University.
Professor Oyeweso will bring on board his wealth of experience as a teacher, researcher and administrator. He was at various times, Director of Advancement; Director, Centre for Human Resource Development and Life-Long Learning; Chairman, Business Committee of Senate; Pioneer Chairman, Committee of Provosts, Deans and Directors; a three-term member of the Governing Council of Osun State University among others.
Aside from being the pioneer Director of UNIOSUN Business School, he has also been appointed as a Member of the Governing Board of UNIOSUN Business School, Osun State University under the Chairmanship of Professor Odunayo Clement Adebooye, the Vice-Chancellor of the institution.
In his remarks, while inaugurating the Governing Board of UNIOSUN Business School at the College of Agriculture, Ejigbo campus, the Pro-Chancellor of Osun State University, Mallam Yusuf Olaolu Ali SAN on 4 May, 2023, expressed delight at the composition of the Governing Board of UNIOSUN Business School.
Mallam Yusuf Ali expressed confidence in the composition of the board, which, according to him, includes individuals from diverse backgrounds whose combined expertise will and invaluable policy implementation and decision making in the best overall interest of this new school.
The Chancellor urged the UNIOSUN Business School to be unique by delivering, “leadership and management training to big and small businesses to fuel economic recovery, increase capacity building and empower the workforce with skills and competencies.” He stated.
Ali further charged the school to be focused on becoming a useful tool for economic and social change. According to him, the school should, “be focused on becoming an engine of economic and social regeneration, suited to the actual needs and real-life challenges of local communities; improving student employability, helping non-traditional students better navigate the recruitment process of large employers and actively growing out to engagement with local employers both large and small.” He added.
The membership of the Governing Board of the UNIOSUN Business School includes, Prof. Odunayo Clement Adebooye, Vice-Chancellor, UNIOSUN as Chairman; Professor Anthony Kola-Olusanya, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (ARIP); Professor Siyan Oyeweso, Director, UNIOSUN Business School; Mr. Gafar Shittu, Registrar; Mr. Bolarinwa Feruke, Bursar; Professor Kehinde Adetunji and Professor Akeem Salami, both representing Senate; Mr. Marcus Awobifa, Deputy Registrar, who is the Administrative Secretary. The Governing Board also parades board room gurus like Sir Demola Aladekomo, external member of Governing Council and four representatives of the Organized Private Sector namely; Dr. (Mrs.) Victoria Adunola Samson, Dr. Awa Ibraheem, Dr. Thomas Ogungbangbe and Colonel Olayiwola Falabi (Rtd).
Ademola Benjamin Aladekomo is a Nigerian entrepreneur, ICT expert, and philanthropist. He is one of the brains behind the success of the first e-payment platform in Nigeria.
Aladekomo was born on the 31st of December, 1957. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from Obafemi Awolowo University and an MBA in Operations Research from the University of Lagos. He was part of the first Chief Executive Programme at the Lagos Business School (LBS). He founded Chams Limited, the first indigenous computer maintenance company in Nigeria after the completion of his MBA programme in 1985.
Over the years, Aladekomo nurtured Chams to Nigeria’s leading provider of integrated identity management system and verification platform.
In 2008, Chams evolved from a privately owned company to a public liability company and was listed on Nigerian Stock Exchange with six subsidiaries.
Demola Aladekomo through Chams Plc led the implementation of the Bank Verification Number project initiated by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Banker’s Committee in 2014. After 30 years of service, Demola retired as the Group Managing Director of Chams Plc handing over to Olufemi Williams.
Aladekomo served as the president of the Lagos Business School Alumni Association (LBSAA) in 2012 – 2014 and also president of the Nigerian Computer Society in 2012. He is a Fellow of the Computer Professional Registration Council (FCPN), a Fellow of the Nigeria Computer Society (FNCS) and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE).
Aladekomo is a Council Member, Osun State University and Board Member, Osun State University Advancement Board, Board Member, Obafemi Awolowo University (OAUTECHEXCEL), the Foundation implementing knowledge park at the university.
Dr. Awa Ibraheem is the CEO of ICMA Professional Services, a company engaged in integrated Consulting, Management AND Accountancy Services. He is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. He currently sits on the board of many companies including Port-Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company, Force Select of United Kingdom and Lagos Executive Business School. He currently chairs the boards of Prime Metro Properties limited, Afrocommerce (WA) Limited, Oceanic Health Management Company Limited and Oak Pensions Limited amongst others. He is currently the Chairman of Governing Council, Fountain University, Osogbo.
Dr. Thomas Olalere Ogungbangbe is a prince from Ajagbusi Ruling House of Iloko-Ìjẹ̀sà, Oriade Local Government Area of Osun State. He was born in Iragbiji, a town in Boripe Local Government Council of Osun State.
He attended C&S Primary School, Iragbiji and Oke-Iragbiji Grammar School, Iragbiji. After the completion of his secondary education, he obtained a degree in Microbiology from the University of Ilorin and subsequently bagged a Masters in Business.
Between 2015 and 2017, he was at Babcock University Ilishan Remo where he was awarded an M.Phil and PhD in Strategic Marketing.
Prince Thomas Ogungbangbe is an experienced world class Business Manager and an aviation fuel expert, who has over the years demonstrated achievements in value creation in key industries.
Thomas Ogungbangbe is the Group Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer, of CITA Group. The Group, comprises of: CITA Bulk Storage Facilities Limited – Responsible for maintaining and holding depot leases; CITA Petroleum Limited – Responsible for the sourcing and supply of Jet fuel; CITA Aviation Fueling Company Limited – Responsible for into-plane sales; CITA Organic Limited – Responsible for lubricants and non-fuel business.
Col. Olayiwola Falabi (Rtd), is an indigene of Ikire, Irewole Local Government, Osun State. He is the Proprietor of Ebunoluwa Group of Schools and a prominent Nigeria farmer. The Ebunoluwa International School was established in September, 2002 to provide the much desired qualitative education in Nigeria, Africa. He is a Fellow, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Fellow, Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria. His experience cuts across political, civil and the military where he undergone trainings and workshops both locally and internationally.
Col. Falabi (Rtd) is also on the board of Ikire Micro Finance Bank and many other companies spanning various sectors of the economy ranging from Tourism, Hospitality, Real Estate and Property Developments and other businesses.
