Professors Udeozor and Ndagi Appointed Deputy Vice-Chancellors of UNIABUJA

The Senate of the University of Abuja (UNIABUJA) has approved the appointments of Professor Rosemary Udeozor and Professor Mohammad Umar Ndagi as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration), respectively. 

The appointments were made during the 92nd Extraordinary Meeting of the Senate held on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, at the University’s Main Campus. The two distinguished scholars emerged unopposed following the withdrawal of two other nominees initially proposed by the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Hakeem Babatunde Fawehinmi.

Professor Rosemary Udeozor (DVC Academic): A prominent scholar from the Department of Educational Management.

Professor Mohammad Umar Ndagi (DVC Administration): A seasoned academic from the Department of Arabic.

In their acceptance remarks, the new DVCs reaffirmed their loyalty to the University's strategic vision. They pledged to uphold due process and foster a harmonious working environment, working in close synergy with the Vice-Chancellor to advance the institution's global standing.

The appointments are currently pending formal ratification by the University Governing Council.
