PTDF Launches 2024/2025 Scholarship Screening for Southwest Candidates
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has commenced the screening of over 700 shortlisted candidates for the 2024/2025 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme in the Southwest region. The selected candidates, drawn from various disciplines including engineering, applied sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, and others, rated the conduct of the exercise as the best in recent times, thereby commending the PTDF’s efforts.
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) has commenced the screening of over 700 shortlisted candidates for the 2024/2025 Postgraduate Scholarship Scheme in the Southwest region.
The exercise, witnessed by the Federal Commissioner of the Federal Character Commission (FCC) representing Lagos State, Abdul-Wasiu Kayode Bawa-Allah, took place at the Faculty of Technology, University of Ibadan, on Monday.
The selected candidates, drawn from various disciplines including engineering, applied sciences, natural sciences, social sciences, and others, rated the conduct of the exercise as the best in recent times, thereby commending the PTDF’s efforts.

In separate interviews, Raji Wasiu Adeyinka, a Computer Science graduate from the University of Ibadan, and Adebola Osifowokan, a Chemical Engineering graduate from Covenant University, praised the PTDF for what they described as a seamless screening exercise.

Additionally, the FCC Commissioner for Lagos State, Bawa-Allah, stated that the PTDF’s actions align with the FCC’s constitutional responsibilities to the nation’s citizenry. According to him, the FCC is tasked with ensuring probity, equity, and fairness in the allocation of political offices and the distribution of infrastructural facilities across the six geopolitical regions. “What the PTDF is doing today is one of the social benefits to Nigerians, noting that the resources funding the scholarship come from the Nigerian states,” he added.
