Relocation Efforts Gain Momentum for LASUCOM Faculty of Pharmacy in Yaba

Preparations for the relocation of the Faculty of Pharmacy to its new annex in Yaba intensified as members of the Faculty paid a second inspection visit to the site on Wednesday, 24th June 2026.

The visit follows an earlier inspection in May and was aimed at reviewing the latest progress and ensuring the facility is on track for a smooth transition predicted to happen in the weeks to come.

Before proceeding to the project site, the Dean of Pharmacy ‎Prof. Adeyinka A. Adepoju-Bello led the entourage on a courtesy visit to the Medical Director & CEO of Mainland Hospital, Yaba, Dr. Adejumo A. Olusola, as part of efforts to build institutional relations with the neighbouring health facility located directly opposite the new annex.

Led through the project site by the College Engineer, Engr. K.O. Odusanmi, alongside members of the engineering team, the staff were taken round various sections of the building where significant progress has been recorded since the last inspection.

The team observed ongoing finishing works and reviewed the readiness of key academic and administrative spaces designated for the Faculty.

The inspection provided an opportunity for staff to evaluate the suitability of the facility for teaching, learning, research and administrative activities, while also identifying areas requiring final attention before occupation.

The new annex is expected to provide modern lecture rooms, laboratories, offices, conference facilities and other essential support spaces that will significantly enhance the Faculty's operational capacity.

The follow-up inspection forms part of a broader strategy by the College Management under the leadership of the Provost, Prof. Olufemi Idowu, to fast-track the Faculty's relocation to the new site and further expand the College's infrastructure.

With work nearing completion, the College is confident that the facility will soon be ready for occupation, a development expected to significantly ease pressure on existing facilities at the Ikeja Campus.
