Rivers State University Teaching Hospital Opens Her State-of-the-Art Stroke Centre with Full Commencement of Operations

On Friday 19th 2024, the Stroke Center at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) was officially opened to the public by Dr. Adaeze C. Oreh, the Honorable Commissioner for Health for Rivers State.

On Friday 19th 2024, the Stroke Center at the Rivers State University Teaching Hospital (RSUTH) was officially opened to the public by Dr. Adaeze C. Oreh, the Honorable Commissioner for Health for Rivers State.

The ceremony, held in a brief but dignified event, marked a significant step forward in the state's healthcare infrastructure.

Dr. Adaeze, in her speech, expressed gratitude towards His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, the Executive Governor of Rivers State, for his unwavering support in advancing healthcare services across the state. She emphasized the critical role of the Stroke Center in providing specialized care to stroke patients, highlighting the facility's state-of-the-art equipment and the dedicated team of medical professionals.

Following Dr. Oreh's address, the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of RSUTH, Prof. Chizindu A. Alikor, took some time to further underscore the importance of the newly established Stroke Center.

He stated that under the guidance of His Excellency, Sir Siminalayi Fubara, RSUTH is expanding her capabilities to provide timely and effective treatment to stroke patients, thereby saving more lives and improving health outcomes for Rivers People. 

The ceremony concluded with a tour of the Stroke Center, where attendees had the opportunity to view the facility's advanced equipment and learn more about the comprehensive care services it will offer.
