RSU Students Among Five Arrested in Crackdown on Cultists and Armed Robbers in Luegbo Community
In a significant law enforcement action, the Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Police Command has arrested five suspects linked to cultism and armed robbery in the Luegbo Community of Khana Local Government Area.
The Anti-Kidnapping Unit of the Rivers State Police Command has arrested five suspects linked to cultism and armed robbery in the Luegbo Community of Khana Local Government Area. Notably, all five arrested individuals are students from Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic.
The operation was launched following an intelligence report about a criminal gathering in the community. Police arrived at the scene to find an ongoing cult initiation ceremony, leading to the arrest of:
- Mduni Clement
- Prosper Wonyingipreye
- Kunle Joseph
- Eken Evans
- Isaiah Elisha
These individuals, who are all enrolled at Ken Saro-Wiwa Polytechnic, have confessed to being members of the Vikings Confraternity. They are now facing charges in court and are currently detained in a correctional center.
The arrests have brought to light the involvement of students in criminal activities and highlight the need for enhanced educational and community support systems to prevent such affiliations.
