A pacemaker is a small device implanted in the chest to regulate abnormal heart rhythms. It is used to treat various forms of arrhythmias, including bradycardia (low heart rate). The device sends electrical impulses to the heart to maintain a normal heartbeat, ensuring the heart pumps blood efficiently throughout the body.

The RSUTH team, under the guidance of the visiting American cardiologists, employed advanced imaging and monitoring technology to ensure the correct placement and functioning of the pacemaker. Throughout the procedure, real-time data was monitored to adjust the pacemaker settings and optimize the patient’s heart function.
